Dae-Gun Kim and Aejin Jeong have shared their lives and ministry since marrying in 2001. Their profound spiritual journey led them to The Salvation Army in 2012 when they enrolled in the Disciples of The Cross session at the Training College in Winnipeg.
Over the years, Dae-Gun and Aejin have served in three distinct Corps appointments within The Salvation Army, working as a strong, cohesive team. They began at the Northeast Circuit in Saskatchewan, covering Melfort, Tisdale, and Nipawin. There, they dedicated a year to building and strengthening local communities. Following that, they served the Wetaskiwin Corps in Alberta for four years, where they played a pivotal role in fostering spiritual growth and community outreach. For four years, they were also Corps officers at Yorkwoods Community Church in Toronto, Ontario, making a significant positive impact on the Jane & Finch community. Since July in 2023, they have taken on the role of Corps officers at the White Rock Church, where they are now relishing the beauty of the town and the warmth of its wonderful community.
Prior to their time with The Salvation Army, Aejin served as a children’s pastor at Korean churches for 15 years, guiding the spiritual growth of the next generation. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Theological Studies, specializing in Global Mission and Intercultural Studies, at Tyndale Seminary in Toronto. Dae-Gun also brings over 15 years of pastoral ministry experience from various churches in Vancouver and Toronto. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Theology from Summit Pacific College and a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Ministry from Tyndale Seminary.
Outside of their ministry, Dae-Gun has a penchant for physical activities. He starts his day with a morning run, plays golf, takes walks with his dog, and finds peace in nature’s embrace. Together, Dae-Gun and Aejin form a passionate and experienced duo, dedicating their lives to community service through their involvement in The Salvation Army and various other religious organizations. With their combined experience, education, and unwavering commitment, they stand as a powerful force for good, continually touching and transforming the lives they encounter on their spiritual journey.
